Roy Hayward 99, nobody famous, D-Day veteran, tank crewman, lost both his legs when his tank was ambushed and exploded, despite his injuries he saved all the other crew in the tank.

Top player and a true gentleman of the game - scored Stoke's winning goal against Chelsea in the 1972 League Cup Final - also saw him play for Stoke a number of times.

Was one of the 22 squad members for England for the 1966 World Cup Finals. of which, sadly, only 3 are still alive - Geoff Hurst, Terry Paine and Ian Callagham.
