The R.I.P. Thread

For me, the Wiessmuller films were the best tarzan films. I must stress this was from watching them on the box on Saturday mornings in the seventies rather than when they first were released!
Yeah me too, his films were good but it was good to have Ely's weekly TV show also.

I used to like those Saturday mornings. Buster Crabbe Flash Gordon, followed by Tiswas when my parents thought I was watching Swap Shop, and then a Weissmuller Tarzan or something like Champion the Wonder Horse before Grandstand started.

Should have been renamed Rebel the Wonder Dog because he was the hero in most episodes.

Fucking loved Champion the Wonder Horse but yes Sniffer, Rebel was my favourite. Uncle Sandy can fuck off, didn't trust him.

Zé Carlos, 56. Only won one Brazil cap - but it was in the 1998 World Cup semi-final.

Teri Garr 79, actress, probably best known for young Frankenstein, tootsie and close encounters of the third kind

Trevor Whymark, former Ipswich striker and one cap wonder for England, 74.
I used to love watching that great Ipswich side play. Even against us and I still have fond memories of that epic FA Cup tie. They were a great side and Whymark was such a classy player. Sad to read he died from Alzheimer's. Only 74. RIP Trevor. Thanks for the memories.
