The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

Yeah I really like RLC. He can improve further too which is promising. I think in games where we need someone to open up the middle of the pitch he could be very handy in this tournament

RLC is an absolute Rolls Royce of a footballer. Evidence a minute ago of that - cute little flick around the corner to Danny Welbeck, who allows the ball to bounce off his shin and loses possession.

Ian Smith??? How Costa Rican is he??? 🤣

I can deal with Welbeck when he's on form for all his rough edges, because he does offer something. He's been shite for club and country for ages now though.

The old versatility argument has got him in, however that's no use if you don't actually want to use him in any of the positions he can allegedly play. Plus we've brought him on as a central striker in these two games, he hardly ever plays there at club level.

Great ball by Ali

Of course he would score! Good play by Alli and Rashford

Hoddle in two minds whether Alli crossed that or was trying a shot. Fucking thraper.

Portugal goals Guedes (2), Fernandes, I'd not heard of either of them a fortnight ago. Being a Wolves fan now broadens your football knowledge.

This was a great tweet from a Citeh fan:

if i got washed up on a desert island with a tin of corn beef and glenn hoddle i would eat glenn hoddle and talk to the tin of corn beef

This is so disappointing from Costa Rica. Shite effort all around. They're easily the closest to Mexico from CONCACAF but they'll get nothing from the group stage if they turn up like this.

Three of their key players have struggled this season really though haven't they? They've not been in great shape since they qualified

His passing and speed of thought has definitely improved this season.

Pep working his magic! I actually thought Henderson's one touch play was far better tonight too though.
