The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

I thought the referee did well. He gave a penalty for the grappling so hard to see how that can be complained about?

I see what you are saying but there was so much that went on before that he seemed to be letting the game turn into a scrum.

First grapple - he let it go. England scored

Second grapple, he gave a penalty. England scored.

So to top the group we can draw with Belgium as long as we get equal or less yellow cards than them.

Yep.

No guarantee that topping the group is DEFINITELY the best route yet. Depends on Brazil and Germany. We shall see.

You don't dick around losing games on purpose. Momentum is everything in tournament football.

Absolutely. I think England are settling into this tournament very nicely and nobody is going to want to play them. I certainly don't think there is anybody in Group H that England should be worried about.

Shit showing from Senegal supporters. I've seen more of their nations flags at Molineux in 2004 against Spurs.

Really can't imagine what would put senaglese fans off going to Russia [emoji848]

Cost? Visas? There is obviously a racism problem in Russia,(and big chunks of Eastern Europe)but it seems to be more directed at black players in mostly white teams, all black teams don't get it so bad

Wonder if someone like Nagatomo could be of interest to Wolves, always thought he'd looked a tidy player when I'd seen him for Inter but seems to have fallen out of favour there now, playing pretty well so far today.

Technically they were ok to kick-off as all our outfield players had left the pitch. If they'd have scored VAR could easily have given the goal.

Not really...

Law 8 (the bits that matter)

after a team scores a goal, the kick-off is taken by their opponents
For every kick-off:
all players, except the player taking the kick off, must be in their own half of the field of play
the opponents of the team taking the kick-off must be at least 9.15 m (10 yds) from the ball until it is in play
the ball must be stationary on the centre mark
the referee gives a signal
