The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

Weren't we linked with Juan Quintero at one point? Dunno where he'd fit in our 3-4-3 but he's been excellent.

Technically they were ok to kick-off as all our outfield players had left the pitch. If they'd have scored VAR could easily have given the goal.

That's not the rules, the rules state that all players have to be in their own half before play can restart

Bear is only wrong on four different points there that I can see...

To be fair to Bear, the commentators said this rule existed in the Portugal game when Ronaldo scored and 1 player stayed on the pitch while the rest celebrated. It happened for England's winner v Tunisia too. I think the rule is a myth but if so I'm not sure why teams keep making sure 1 outfield player stays on the pitch.

Szczney with another bad mistake.

How is he better than Fabianski again?

EDIT: Upon second viewing, Szczney really couldn't have done anything about that. Exquisite ball in from James.

Columbia look a completely different prospect tonight. Very impressive.

It's a complete and utter myth.

Christ work is going to be a morgue in the morning!

Not my fault you adulterated the mother tongue you were born with. Put some thicker armour on.

Poland are diabolical. A wonderfully inept first half from them.

Like I say, work is going to be horrific in the morning. Lots and lots of extremely morose Poles to deal with. They are dreadful.

Is this a typo or is that really how it's spelled in the UK?

It is my mistake Alan. Columbia is a very good outdoor brand, Colombia is the country where marching powder originates from (apparently).

Didn't mean my post to come off dickish tbf. Genuinely curious as I'm sure there are spelling differences between our Englishes that aren't as well-advertised as color/colour, gray/grey, etc.

It's definitely Colombia. Like it isn't 'Rumania'. And it isn't 1971...
