Micah and Shearer have put up their all time best XI in world cups. Shearer’s is pretty good. Micah though…

a) what on earth is Lineker doing there? A very commendable record across two tournaments but there are better choices
b) especially when you are shoe horning him into inside right when he was an archetypal 9 and you have correctly given that position to Brazilian Ronaldo
c) and you compound this by accommodating Lineker at inside right by moving Maradona to inside left, where he never played.

The correct answer was as in Shearer’s team sheet, a narrow front 3 with Maradona and Pele flanking Ronaldo or Pele as a number 10 in a 4-2-3-1 with Maradona as inside right and an alternate inside left, with Cruyff springing to mind.

I've said it before but it is a joke that Richards is on there. You are asking him to comment on players/matches/teams that he hasn't seen play bar a few you tube clips. I love the concept of the show but stopped going out of my way to watch it due to his involvement in it.
