Mbappe however has looked outstanding.

I don't really rate walker defensively tbh. Relies on his pace loads because he's out of position. Cost England against Croatia.

Thank goodness we have Bellingham and Foden in our team. They turned a potentially dismal first half around. Second half was easy and the 3rd goal was excellent.

I may be unfair towards Southgate as I tend to automatically think most things we do are in spite of him rather than because of him. He is obviously limited tactically but I do have to give him some credit as he can clearly manage tournaments better than his predecessors. I still hope he steps down after this though.

Could have started the game with more intensity but the team selection was good and England looked the business. Plenty of positive signs there and putting in a proper performance for a knockout game is always worth enjoying.

I do wonder what happens with Mane playing. I think he takes both chances in the first half. You can be sure if we invite France to attack from those positions or present those chances they'll punish us.

Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden are outrageously talented, to think they're only likely to improve from their respective ages too,I just hope the handbrake is off on Saturday and they can show what they're all about against the very best.
