The Official FIFA World Cup 2022 Megathread

They clearly went direct before the goal to counter the high press. It caused indecision for Senegal.
Nah, it was turbid, shit slow, directionless possession.

Possession for the sake of it. Didn't do anything but give Senegal the ball high up the pitch.

Players then chose to ignore that for the last 10 minutes of the half and lo and behold we score.

That's last paragraph is a complete reach. It seemed like a genuine tactical change to me, kane went right up against their centre halves and the ball was being dropped into him.

It's a metaphor for going direct mate, not a direct comparison.
Won't get into an argument over it but can't say it works for me either way.

Moot anyway, I'm fully just a member of the Peanut Gallery at this point.

Agreed. Pulis has a much better CV.

Quite like the look of their number 9, Dia.

Get to 65-70 mins here (or 3-0 preferably) and I'd be taking off all of Bellingham, Kane, Foden and Walker.

Bring on Maddison, Rashford, Wilson and Trippier.

Thats game over. Nice goal. Beat France in the next round and we should win this.

Foden world class there. Such good balance.

Just a gross amount of talent on the pitch for England.

To think bellingham, saka & foden are so good at 19,21 & 22 is a positive sign for our national team in the coming years

Why are Kane and Walker still on? Particularly the latter. Need to save his legs for Mbappe.
