No one contesting the initial ball. Then letting Giroud run at you like he’s Mbappe, go and engage! Then letting Dembele just run inside, then no communication leaving Mbappe unmarked. Even still at this point he’s still got a lot to do but both defenders don’t make any effort to get out to him giving him the freedom to put it where he likes. If one of them gets out to him a few yards they’ve got a better chance of blocking it or put the pressure on so he’s more likely to mishit it

They've been comfortable the whole game. They may not have done anything outstanding but they haven't had to.

Mbappe however has looked outstanding.

To say they've been lazy going forward is just bollocks.

I honestly think you watch a different game to the rest of the world.

He meant to and would have without the stupid hop. It's a loophole in the law imo

He's one of the best finishers in the world, if he can't just score in the corner then he shouldn't be taking penalties in the first place. Three penalties for him in the tournament and he's missed two of them because he tries to be clever instead of just scoring.
