The Official FIFA World Cup 2022 Megathread

Ugh. I suppose trying to look on the brightside, maybe Bellingham needs a rest, don't mind Walker and if it is a back 3, that doesn't mean it has to be defensive and pragmatic does it?
I'm being ridiculously naive aren't I?

Another boring display and the media will be on his back. I think you see the path easily ahead, draw tonight but top the group. Very unconvincing Win in rd2 followed by a routine exit v France.

That penalty last night was bullshit according to their new handball rules. Its bullshit according to the eyes of anyone watching too.

I doubt it made any difference to the result ultimately though.

Predicting an exit against someone like France is perhaps a tad premature . Clearly if Southgate plays 9 at the back , then you're inviting trouble with someone like Mbappe and the consistently under rated Griezmann hanging around .
However Denmark caused France a bit of bother as well and their win was far from straightforward .

Hard to call a winner at this point . Getting out of the group is all that is required at this point , and that must be borne in mind . Impressing whilst doing just that means little , unless you can back it up later on .

Spain for instance , for all their huffing and puffing the other night only drew 1 - 1 with a German team that have not impressed for a long while now .
Brazil are up and down , Argentina do not look impressive thus far . It's wide open .

I'm definitely tempted to watch the Iran game due to the inevitable bad blood (England are boring as all f most of the time).

Matt Law thinks Walker, Henderson, Foden and Rashford are in.

-------------------------Pickford-----------------

Walker---------Stones---------Maguire---------Shaw

------------------------Rice------------------------

---------------Henderson------Bellingham----------

------------Rashford------Kane-----Foden----------

That's not bad I guess. Might have been tempted by TAA for Henderson and a move to 3-4-3.

I could see him resting Bellingham and playing Mount again.

I guess rice & Henderson to be a double pivot, full backs to push on and give extra width with Bellingham allowed to play as an attacking midfielder

Ignore this, Jude playing as the most advanced midfielder apparently
I told you, you kids don't listen do you.

The FA are so fucking leaky even the Tory party look at them in wonder.

Not that it matters these days but why have they got Qatar vs Netherlands on ITV1 and Senegal vs Ecuador on ITV4? Quite obviously Qatar will lose comfortably and there's pretty much nothing riding on the game. The other one is winner takes all.

Dumb question, I can't find Ecuador Vs Senegal on terrestrial TV - is it being shown anywhere?

Edit. dW posts the answer
