The NFL Thread

So everyone keeps saying, but we shall see. It's going to be a Greg Roman offense: he made Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick look decent in his scheme. The QB won't be asked to do too much, a lot of play action and short passes getting the ball to receivers like Watkins, McCoy and Harvin in space and letting them run after the catch. With the Bills defense I'm betting they win at least 10 games with that formula, they won 9 last year with a total bonehead for HC, a moron for OC, a terrible running game and Kyle frickin Orton at QB! EJ Manuel was QB in 2 of those wins too, but I forgot, he's terrible and you can't win with him as your QB... But we shall see.

Somebody has been reading my posts on here...

The problem is that without a solid QB you have to play nearly perfect in every other phase. Needless to say, this almost never happens. Trent Dilfer's Ravens come along once in a blue moon.

Jags v Bills game in London will be the 1st ever NFL game to (legally!) be streamed by the NFL over the internet for free worldwide.

another shit game sent to London

:\

As I already said we won 9 games last year with Kyle Orton and an offensive co-ordinator who hadn't got a clue. I think we win at least 10 games this coming season, whether it's with Cassel or Manuel. There is simply too much talent, especially on defense, they could suit you up at QB and still win a couple of games!

Not truly NFL news anymore, but Aaron Hernandez has been found guilty in his murder trial.

Yeah, I saw about that. The only surprising thing is that Robert Kraft didn't try to influence the jury to let him off...

Even Kraft has his limits, ay?

NFL season schedule out tomorrow. We know the opening game will be the Cheatriots at home but against whom? I reckon the Steelers are a good bet or possibly the Eagles.

Season kickoff game is Cheatriots v Steelers. Could be a good one. Bills open at home against the Colts, good bet for Sky game on the 1st Sunday possibly. Who do your team start the season against?

Redskins at home to the Dolphins.

Plus the Giants are at the Cowboys on the opening day as well.

Bears first 6 fixtures...

Aside from the Raiders that is a brutal 6 weeks. Bears could easily be 1-5 after it and if the Raiders make progress 0-6 isn't inconceivable.

Exactly my fear. Really need Bears to of progressed over the off season otherwise the new season will be over very quickly!

Not much hope for you with John Fox in town, unfortunately. Fucking atrocious coach.

There are some dreadful head coaches in the NFL at the moment. To go with Fox I'd include Zimmer, Gruden (although that may be harsh as he's only had one season), Smith, Ryan and Wisenhunt.

I know you're fishing but I'm going to take the bait anyway. Putting Rex Ryan in that list of dreadful coaches is ridiculous and highlights your complete lack of knowledge. Rex Ryan has coached a top 5 defense in 5 out of 6 years and last year they were STILL top 10 even though the GM had voided the team of talent. He also managed to get the Jets to 2 AFC Championship games with Mark frickin Sanchez as QB! I never liked Ryan as a person, I thought he was arrogant and brash, but I know for sure he is a pretty darned good coach. Last year the Jets were terrible, but take a look at the overall absence of talent the now departed GM left them with and it's a genuine miracle they won 4 games.
