The NFL Thread

He is so old he is on the Original PlayStation GameDay games from the looks of it! Which think they stopped making all together in either 01 or 02.

Jags reportedly about to sign Tim Tebow - as a Tight End. He is 33, never played that position before, left the NFL almost 10 years ago.

Meanwhile Colin Kaepernick remains without a team.

Julio to the Titans for a 2+change. Surprised he's accepted going there tbh

Done well to get a second if they’re taking on all his salary too. Gets us out a big hole

Him leaving has been inevitable for a couple of weeks and it became apparent a 2 was where the market was at, just surprised a SB contender didn't want him or he couldn't force his way to one. Would have been a way to make Rodgers happy for instance

From what I’d read before there aren’t many teams with the cap space to get him in. Then if the Falcons were going to get a better draft pick then they’d have to pay some of his salary, and that wouldn’t actually fix the problem. You’d still have to restructure someone else and “kick the can down the road” which has got us in mess in first place.

There was hope the 49ers would do some stupid because of Shanahan but they would have had to make moves to get the cap space or Falcons pay the salary.

The $15m of cap space (minus dead cap) is more valuable than the 2nd-> 1st draft pick. So people need to look past “What Falcons only got a 2nd for Julio lol” headline.

Titans consider themselves SB contenders. They have reached the playoffs the last 2 years, already have the running game of Derrick Henry, and should not be dismissed lightly.

Lost too many defensive players in FA for me. Paying and basing your game on a RB with tread on his tyres is a dangerous game as you never know when they are going to be washed. See Zeke and Gurley for recent examples

I agree about RBs having a limited shelf life, but so long as Henry is still good, they are a contender. Not as good as Chiefs, Ravens, and maybe Bills, but still a dangerous AFC team.

I hope they win their division and the Colts don't make the play offs, but there's a fair amount of self interest in that

Wentz will either have a great comeback season, or sink into oblivion. Colts are currently slight favourites to win the division, so the money says he will do well. If I were a gambling man - which I am not - I would go for the Titans.

You think the Ravens are better than the Bills? The same Bills that completely shut them out in the playoffs last year?

Edit: allowed 3 points on their first drive and then played a shut out.
But my point still stands.

He's a mid tier QB but has the emotions of a child. He'll in all likelihood have a good season or 2, but then at some point he'll fall apart again when his fragile ego gets damaged

I would rank the top of the AFC as 1-Chiefs, 2-Ravens, 3-Bills, 4-Titans. You do have a valid point, but anything can happen in a one-off game. At the same time, the Bills are on the up and could surpass the Ravens soon. The Browns and Colts could also make legitimate claims to be near the top.
