Unless Foles can reproduce his half season of magic, that trade is a win for the Bears. Dalton is certainly no worse than Foles, and presumably a bit cheaper.

Bears superbowl odds may have tumbled, but that is not because you got Dalton, it's because you didn't get Wilson.

It all depends on if you trust the back room at Chicago to bring in a future "superstar QB" and you trust Nagy to use said QB correctly in the future.

And, yes, missing out on Wilson is a big "ah bollocks!"

It's not really a trade in them getting anything, rumoured to be a 6th out for a 7th back it's just a way of getting him off their roster. Dalton isn't cheaper their Foles. He costs them $4m a year Dalton is $10m. They have a lot of work to do to get a Top QB in the draft, realitically Jones is the only one available to them and then they are probably going to move 5-8 places up to get him. Finding someone outside the 1st isn't impossible, it very occasionally comes off, but it's not a strategy.

Hands up who trusts Ryan Pace selecting ANY QB in the draft never mind what he's going to have to give up to get one.
Apparently after Davis Mills, QB of Stanford... Any of my American friends tell me if he’s any good?

Yeh, cheap backup for a team who isn't making the play offs this season in any eventuality. Makes more sense than Foles both financially and baggage wise

Efe Obada signs with Buffalo, bringing their British contingent to 2 with Christian Wade. Obada will certainly make the roster, I'd say Wade has about a 5% chance unless he proves himself as a kick/punt returner. If the Bills draft Najee Harris or Travis Etienne, which a lot of mocks have them doing, that chance drops to 0%.

They'll roll with Hurts go 7-10/6-11 pick in the Top half again next year, wouldn't surprise me with if they trade down from 6 this year swapping for a team that wants a QB like Lance or Jones (49ers, Patriots) - pick up a 2022 1st and end up with 3 next year.
This has indirectly happened. 49ers have traded with Miami into 3 which has cost them 2 extra 1sts.

Miami have given one of those to Philly to go up to 6, so now.
49ers at 3rd - 2 1st round picks
Dolphins at 6 + 1 1st
Philly at 12th + 1 1st

Looks like Eagles originally tried to get to 3, pulled out after Jets confirmed via sources they will be taking Zach Wilson, so Miami found a new partner as he was the only QB the Eagles wanted

American sports writers love to regularly produce their power rankings. These are the latest from one NFL guy:

1. Bucs
2. Packers
3. Browns
4. Bills
5. Chiefs
6. Seahawks
7. Ravens
8. Pats
9. Colts
10. Chargers
11. Dolphins
12. 49ers
13. Cowboys
14. Cardinals
15. Titans
16. Saints
17. Vikings
18. Panthers
19. Rams
20. Steelers
21. Bengals
22. Raiders
23. Giants
24. Jets
25. Bears
26. Football Team
27. Broncos
28. Jags
29. Lions
30. Falcons
31. Eagles
32. Texans

Bottom three all regular recent playoff teams.

It still feels weird to refer to Washington as Football Team, but rumoured they want to keep that name.

I would not have written Jimmy G off for another season, but teams can be ruthless.
The market for Watson keeps getting smaller.

They'll start him this year. Neither Lance or Fields are predicted to be NFL ready from Day 1
