The Music Thread Strikes Back

Finally doing my very first Shiine On. It's the 10 year anniversary in Skegness next year. Going to be massive..

Bob Dylan is playing the Civic in November. Trying to work out how tempted I am.
(Might be tempted to get Bob vylan tickets for their October tour too!)

The latest release by my brother's band S.K.X. If you like a bit of electronic funk rock have a listen. Not sure how to describe them really! They have a bit of a Public Service Broadcasting/Chromeo vibe going on IMO.

hatred makes the adrenaline flow
stir up the fire, watch it grow
everybody likes a righteous cause
everything forgotten in holy wars

Aerosmith retirement announced (at least from touring). Glad I took the opportunities to see them in the early 90s including a great set at Donnington in 1994.

I can’t forgive them for Armageddon tbh

Saw them on the Pump tour, and also at that Donington gig that LJ mentions. Pantera and Sepultura, plus getting on the second stage invasion with Biohazard before the power was pulled were the highlights.

Was a decent line up in the main. Phenomenally huge number of bottles of piss thrown about during the extreme set.

We're you standing patiently waiting for The Prodigy?

The Prodigy put on a good show even though it's not really my thing.

Chemical Brothers were just shit. Watching two geeks stood there with crap music playing.

Full marks to all the others.

I saw Beastie Boys and Prodigy at Reading 98 and it was fantastic. There was the incident where the Beastie Boys asked the Prodigy not to play Smack My Bitch Up as it was derogatory to women, so naturally when they came on stage they told them to get fucked and played it straight away! 😂

I went to the Loch Lomond gig.

I was so excited in the run up to the gig and very underwhelmed by the actual performance.

I saw the Prodigy at Knebworth in 2017. Sonisphere - they headlined night one, iron maiden did night two, and metallica closed the deal on night three.

The Prodigy were fucking loud - like motorhead levels of loud. I loved their set.

Massive metal festival and the loudest band that weekend was...Gary Numan. Holy shit, are friends electric and cars had bass levels to make the bowels move involuntarily!

EDIT - I think it was 2017. It was the year Metallica headlined Glastonbury the weekend before.
