The Music Thread Strikes Back

I thought that seemed like a strange thing to do when I looked at my TV Guide.

Sorry mate, I didn't realise else I would have told you!

I can stand outside and hear it perfectly Langdale! That makes it even worse.

So pissed off.

Round here you can't even get analogue signal any more. So BBC Four is equally as accessible as BBC Two. Why move it for half an hour? What a waste of time. So we can watch Jimmy Cliff? I'm sure his legions of fans could have caught him on the red button.

That would hurt me.

At least I have my daughter's Christening on Sunday to look forward to. Loads of friends and family and the father-in-law has a polypin of Enville ale ready to go.

It seems to be due to the crucial programme "Newsnight" being shown on BBC 2. I, like you, assumed the BBC4 coverage was starting from the beginning of the U2 set.

I have got to say though, they have stepped it up a notch since moving to BBC 4, must be for you Dan!

If they really must show both, then put Jimmy Cliff's half hour set on BBC Two. Where it fits. Rather than having to switch U2 from one channel to another, mid-set. Where's the logic?

This is good, but apparently I've missed some Achtung Baby stuff, which is more than a bit annoying.

It's not the end of the world because the wonders of iPlayer/red button will see me good, but for fuck's sake - think about what you're doing! Even if I didn't agree with what you were doing, at least bloody tell me that you're doing it!

We are talking about the BBC - do you really expect any better?

They will probably blame it on Wimbledon...or the Royal Wedding

I'm going to send an indignant email in the morning.

I will C&P the generic response when I get it.

And now they're going back to BBC Two!

Shower of cunts.

Just as they start Sunday, Bloody Sunday!!

Beautifully timed just as "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" starts. So we miss it all, and on BBC Four we have a trailer, while on BBC Two we have the weather. Twats.

How to wreck coverage of a concert.

Raping the juke box down the local with Rolling Stones songs.

Class.

Wow, BBC have just gone from bad to worse

So now we have slightly delayed coverage. Ok, fine, but shifting the whole thing between channels was just incredibly stupid.

Whoever made that decision needs whipping, hard. On the nape of their neck. I'll gladly do it.

All because of Newsnight...which I am sure was highly anticipated by many

If Newsnight was so important, keep U2 on BBC Four for the duration. Loads of music fans were watching that anyway with Moz on there.

The key point is them not even saying what was happening. How long would it take to get Mark Radcliffe to say, "Ok, stick here for Jimmy Cliff, if you want U2, pop over there". Four seconds?

So amateurish.

Doesn't even take that...all it needs is a banner on the screen!

Funnily enough, when there's a channel change for Wimbledon, you click over and they're already broadcasting live on the "new" channel.

Why the two minute gap here?

Chill DW, chill. If you ever make it to Dublin, and I hope you do, we'll take a nice cycle out to Killiney bay and you can hammer on Bonos door as much as you want. Theres plenty of tourists who hang out at his gates and sign them and on the odd occasion that hes around, he signs stuff. Enya, Lisa Stansfield, Sinead O Connor and Eddie Jordan also live on the hill too, so if you have any gripes w any of them, you can have a field day!
I will also bring you to Windmill lane studios where U2 record most of their stuff. Dublin is like a village. Everything is within reachable distance

I hope I make it over too, mate. Only fair after you came all the way over the other way!
