The Music Thread Strikes Back

It still boils my piss that the derivitive simplistic shite that was Roll With It was anywhere near Country House in the battle of the singles. Such an inferior song.

Roll With It was a better CD single though as it had Rockin' Chair, It's Better People and the live version of Live Forever on it.

This song is a classic. So under rated.

This one will always be a special tune for me.

Two bangers.

On and On is the best one from the Longpigs though. Karaoke favourite of mine.

Two bangers indeed. I only heard that one by The Longpigs, don't know why I didn't look for more of their stuff. I think at the time I was used to liking one song by bands and the rest being meh (Echobelly, Suede, Elastica, Sleeper etc) so took it as that wouldn't be beaten.

Suede have easily got a top ten, man.

By The Sea
Trash
The Beautiful Ones
The Wild Ones
It Starts And Ends With You
Animal Nitrate
Metal Mickey
So Young
She's In Fashion
We Are The Pigs

written years after britpop, but perfectly summing up most of it

speak nothing but lies
steal, borrow and beg
stale copycat lives
still living off dregs
a small counterfeit mind
sees nothing in depth
a sham second hand mime
it's mirrors image has fled
as you follow footsteps

Not sure I could whittle down a top 10 for Suede. As Dan says, too many.

I only ever liked Animal Nitrate by Suede, absolutely stonking tune. Thought the rest of their stuff was meh at best.

Watched Incubus with Banjo on Friday night at Brixton Academy. They were as superb as usual and have a ridiculous number of quality tunes to pick from now. Love the fact they still finish with 'A Crow Left of the Murder', which is one of my favourite Incubus tracks.

Levellers 30th anniversary One Way of Life tour in the autumn.

1) I'm old
2) will try and get to one of these. Always good live.
