The Music Thread Strikes Back

I really enjoyed this article about why certain music or just a part of a song gives you goosebumps - http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/sep/02/why-does-music-give-us-chills-google

There are obviously loads of songs that do it, but the one that springs to mind is the opening Plainsong by the Cure, the first track on Disintegration. After the gentle bells, in comes massive shimmery synth. Gets me every time. Brings back so many memories.

Guessing they'll be a fair few gigs announced soon once the festival season draws to an end and the students start to return.

Whyte Horses lp, just got it after months and months of waiting....fantastic record, private press limited to 100 or 200 or something stupid like that.

nice track.

saw Wand tonight, really good

Aw bugger forgot about that....many there? and did they come on at stupid o clock?

Heres the Sweet's best song, on german tv and with the F word....tut tut.

Had a Fairport Convention Monday which triggered me to have a Cate Le Bon Tuesday.

was good but they were on in the basement. not been in there before. the view is a bit limited with a pillar on the right by the bar. the stage area is not raised as the roof is pretty low. but they were good and enjoyed it a lot. they already have a new album coming out despite already having one out earlier in the year and I think most of what they played must be off that.

i saw Ought a month back as well by the way - they were fucking good. it is a bit disconcerting how much the lead singer looks like a young david morrissey though. beautiful blue sky is one of the tracks of the year for me. album out this week i think.
