The Music Thread Strikes Back

Bloodstock site is fucking brilliant. Bogs are like palaces compared to most festivals. Going to a good weekend. Looking forward to Arnocorps tonight. Death metal with lyrics about arnies best films. What could possibly go wrong?

The Spice Girls are reforming (without Posh Spice) and doing a world tour.

New Ought lp is pretty good (after that rubbish last ep)......(further mining into talking heads territory)
the Nudity lp slays.

That was me, not Nando as I have friends in the band :)

Another chap I went to school with is the lead singer for Martyr de Mona who are also playing.

Paddy, did you get to see either Winter Storm or MDM?

Sadly no. My mate saw Martyr De Mona and was very impressed.

I think I caught the following:-

Arnocorps (magnificent doesn't do it justice)
Savage Messiah
Wolf
Nuclear Assault
Triaxis
Dark Angel
Death (Bucket List moment ticked off)
1349
Korpiklaani (Finnish folk death metal - bizarre and brilliant)
Black Label Society
Sepultura
Pro-Pain
Lawnmower Deth (Just awesome as fucking always)
Onslaught
Metaprism
Napalm Death
Bit of Opeth
Bit of Rob Zombie
Probably a couple of others I have forgotten.

Plus the after-show party in VIP was a scream with an Ozzy tribute band who were fantastic.

This evening I will mostly be lowering the level of class in the Royal Opera House to watch Ben Folds

Nice one. I love a bit of Ben Folds.

Sounds brilliant - missed him on 6 music today, hope it's on catchup.

Utterly awesome, as usual.

Mix of his new stuff with yMusic and stuff from across the years. Each time I see him live he is trying new stuff and styles of music.

Leeds festival lineup:

How on earth have The Libertines bagged a headline slot?! Dire.

Not much there to interest me and half the acts I'd fancy watching seem to clash. :(

Guessing that Spiritualized swung it for you NWW?
Moseley park is ace. Public Enemy at Mostly Jazz was awesome!
Be interested to hear what you make of it. Cracking little festival.

That reading line up is poor.

DDW, assume you'll be seeing underworld? Who else? Interpol are supposed to have a good live show.

I will be seeing Underworld, Blur, Manic Street Preachers, Hot Chip, jurassic 5, Grace Jones, Roisin Murphy, Yasiin Bey, Julio Bashmore, Sultans of Ping, Boomtown Rats, Shamir, Rubberbandits, Sam Smith etc

Best line up in years IMO. Spent today organising our tent and accessories

Forgot to mention Belle and Sebastien and Tame Impala.
