The Music Thread Strikes Back

Joe Cocker little help from my friends is utterly brilliant. I love it.

Best cover ever though is Hey Joe (originally by The Leaves, I believe). Quite simply the best Hendrix track ever in my book.

Nouvelles |Vagues debut album is superb. Saturday Night Sunday Morning is ace.

No-one mentioned Madness, It Must Be Love for best cover? Oh my!

Faith No More's Easy Like Sunday Morning is excellent too. I do like Amy Winehouse's version of Valerie even if it has been played too much.

Yes Johnny! Faith No More!

Other covers which do it for me:

Sonic Youth - Superstar (not sure James would approve but it's great)
Flaming Lips - What A Wonderful World
Johnny Cash - I see A Darkness
Decemberists - Crazy on You (Yes, I'm partial to a bit of early Heart, what of it?)
the Breeders - Happiness is Warm Gun

I'm friends with Dryden, the lead singer of Alien Ant Farm on Facebook. Had numerous chats via Private Message with him. He hates that song now!

Can you tell him I bought their album for some unknown reason, off the back of that cover, and I want my £10 back.

I thought that album was decent and "Smooth Criminal" was the worst song on it!

Movies was a decent tune.

My favourite Johnny Cash covers he's performed on the American Recordings albums:

Hurt
One
Redemption Day
I Won't Back Down
Personal Jesus
Desperado
Rowboat
I Hung My Head
The Man Who Couldn't Cry
I See A Darkness
Rusty Cage
Bridge Over Troubled Water
Bird On A Wire
Spiritual
God's Gonna Cut You Down

How could you not include the Mercy Seat?

Johnny Cash?

With that, you lose the very, very, very small amount of board rep you had remaining.

I wouldn't want to be friends with someone who likes Dr. Who, Star Trek/Wars & Johnny Cash anyway xx

It sounds like three stages of torture.

A) Being forced to watch an episode of Dr. Who.
B) Being forced to watch a Star Wars/Trek movie.
C) If both of those fail - crack out the Johnny Cash album.

Good God. There's not an undercover spy or terrorist in the world who wouldn't crack under that kind of torture.
