The Music Thread Strikes Back

I've just found out that Thin Lizzy are releasing new material under the name of Black Star Riders. Anyone know if it is any good?

Very similar to be honest, a bit like a watered down Thin Lizzy ( a bit of a hard act to follow ! ) still listenable though :)

I listened to planet rock this morning, and actually heard Rush songs on the radio, (apart from spirit of radio.) I did not realise that Planet rock had taken over from kerrang.

They took over from the 14th June. They are both broadcast from London now instead of Kerrang! being based near Snow Hill.

No Hallowed Be Thy Name - booo! Harris out!

I feel dirty. I actually quite like the new Olly Murs song.

It reminds me of the sort of ballad that The Bluetones would do, albeit less guitar'y. His voice sounds quite similar to them too on this track.

On planet rock today heard songs from Rush, Magnum, Yes, Zeppelin and sabbath. Like a blast from my younger days.

New Sigur Ros album has arrived. Looking forward to giving it a blast after the last gig I saw.

As Machin was complaining about the lack of 90's rock, he should watch Scuzz - Top 40 Nineties Rock on at the moment.

I see the Goo Goo dolls have announced a show at the institute in brum.

Oooooh, and nimrod may be interested in $#@! Buttons being there on 8 sept too. I'll be going to that one!

yeah, that's a possible - will be checking dates. doing sigur ros the week before that at Jodrell :)

Foals are fucking painful listening at Glastonbury. Awful.

But not as bad as that fucking Professor Green cunt.
Id managed to avoid this talentless twat up until now...he cant rap,he has zero original ideas as most of his songs are 80% samples of covers (or covers of covers) and his dj doesnt even scratch properly (like with vinyl records)...digital scratching!...my arse.

and he looks like a cunt too.

You can add Dizzee Rascal to that too! It just about perfectly describes him.

The fact that both of them are likely to be seen by more people than an absolutely legendary hip-hop artist tucked away in the dance village tomorrow is criminal.

The girl in the Girls Names' music video is beyond gorgeous. Wow.
