I'd ask what they see in him that's going to get them out of a relegation battle (after resolutely doing his best to get Leeds into one) but then I remember they appointed Nathan Jones, so they obviously want to get relegated anyway.

It's not like he wasn't backed at Leeds either. They definitely signed a number of players that he wanted, and they were pretty terrible. How's he going to walk in to that Southampton dressing room and turn it around? Crazy appointment, but then I guess there aren't many realistic options available at this point of the season. Especially candidates that will be willing to go there knowing they'll likely go down anyway.

Seriously though I don't get why that's a selling point! For anyone, not just Marsch. If I'm running a team who are struggling then I want someone better than a bloke who always manages struggling teams, it suggests he isn't very good. Go and find me someone who can materially improve things.

I'm happy enough wishing the likes of Pardew, Irvine, Bruce etc on Albion. They can appoint Lage too whenever they like. They're simply rubbish managers.

I don't think there's a club I'd wish Saunders on because he's an appalling person as well and it's a truly miserable experience. Maybe McDons.
