The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2018/19

Things in Ranieri's favour

1. He is a pretty decent, if somewhat erratic manager
2. He will have the respect of the players
3. He has got plenty of time
4. There is a huge amount of utter fucking dross in the relegation scrap, and there is every chance of getting Fulham above three poorer teams.

18 year old Ryan Sessegnon this year has played:
Left back, left wing back, left wing, wide left in a 433, left midfield in a 433. He mustn't know whether he is coming or going.

I think Cardiff Huddersfield, Newcastle and Southampton are all worse than Fulham if Fulham start to defend properly. 3 goals a game conceded every game is unsustainable. I hope they turn a corner . When do we play them ( curse klaxon looming/ new manager bounce)? :scouse:

At least you can watch it on Sky

To be fair, that wasn't an unreasonable assumption before the season kicked off. Their squad looked very good indeed on paper. The difference is, ours have performed on the field. Thank goodness for Nuno.

If you ignored their defence, which is horrendous. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that they've been leaking goals.

That really annoyed me because there are zero trains & this is normally one of the most accessible away days.
It's a major pain in the arse. Queue the "we fucking hate Sky Sports" chants

Well it suits me :D that’s two years on the run we’ve had a game in London for Boxing Day!

Martin O'Neill gone. Yesterday's man.

Would love to see Mick back. I have all the feelz for MM.

Happy to see O'Neill gone, he became a parody of himself recently, great memories and performances in Euro 16 but just a bitter old dinosaur now. It's like he seems to care more about arguing with journos than changing the team's style.

I thought in Ireland Stephen Kenny would be the fans pick after his success at club level.

You can be sure Matt Doherty is hoping for Mick

Doherty's comments in the press today have totally outed O'Neill as being a very poor manager and coach. He's surely finished after this.

"Compared to the set-up I have at Wolves, you could class it as old-school. When you were away with Ireland, you didn’t really have that much coaching. It was more of five-a-side, or 11-a-side game, and that would be it.

"You can’t have that, especially at international football, people not really sure on what their role is the next day"

"The day before a game you would do a few set-pieces here and there and then go into the game. You are kind of thinking to yourself, ‘what shape are we going to play?’

"You’d have a few players thinking 'we’ll play this shape', or someone else thinking something else. You can’t have that, especially at international football, people not really sure on what their role is the next day.

and the gloves are off (makes a nice change for Doc in December I guess)

I remember Doherty ripping into Hibs/Pat Fenlon in a similar way after his loan spell there.
