The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2015/16

He has got Real playing like shite. Possibly shite enough to stop deluded scousers asking for him back with Klopp in post.

Real press conference this evening (called by Perez) - Rafa getting binned?

Would seem it is a matter of when and not if for poor old Scouse hero Rafa.

Zidane to be in charge soon I reckon

Shouldn't have been near the job in the first place. Failed at Napoli over two years so he gets the Real Madrid gig? Not only does he play rubbish football but he hasn't done anything meaningful anywhere for ages and he has a track record of falling out with big players. Always a terrible fit.

The moment Ronaldo publicly said either Rafa goes or I go, then the Spanish waiter's fate was sealed.

Also sounds like Benzema, Isco, James Rodriguez and Sergio Ramos think Rafa is a bit of a cunt too. That is unsurvivable, before you factor in the garbage football and then getting their arses handed to them by Barcelona.

Sky saying the conference is to give a vote of confidence rather than the sack

They are already through in the champions league, which is a plus point. Their next league game is against Eibar so they should win that.

About the only things in Rafa's favour. Well, along with the President having made the appointment and therefore almost certain to have to hold elections if Rafa is binned.

So just delaying the sacking then.

Swansea's draw against Bournemouth reminded me a bit of our draw against Swansea in Mick's last season.

An established but limited Premier League outfit shown up by going 2-0 down at home against a newly promoted side playing better football, before fighting back to get a point. Not going to say that sacking Monk will turn Swansea around, given that eventually sacking McCarthy did us no favours that season, but I can see Swansea's board sacking him as soon as a better long-term candidate becomes available, rather than following our boards months of dithering until Mick's position became untenable.

I wouldn't wish an emotional return for Brendan on them. Moyes is going to be heavy favourite for pretty much any PL jobs for a while, don't think he would go there though.

I don't think Moyes would be on Swansea's radar, don't think he fits their footballing ethos.

I liked the way his later Everton teams played tbf. A few years of toughing it out on a budget of zero wasn't the best viewing (effective though, and not on the Pulis/Allardyce unwatchable scale) but when he had a bit more to spend they played some very decent stuff.

Big next job for him though, United was a hospital pass and Sociedad didn't work out in the end, not many managers can go through three straight failures and escape with no damage to their reputation.

I don't think they would have Rodgers back, nor do I think he would, but him and Moyes would be good appointments if Monk was sacked.

I hope he isn't, though, I like what he's done with them largely even if I didn't like the way he was brought in in the first place. Young manager likes him in his first rut should be given the chance to solve it.

I think Moyes will go to Celtic if they can afford him when they exit Europe this week.

Think I said it the other week, someone at the club has to be answerable for them not buying a striker in the summer (Eder doesn't count). You've sold Bony, you need to replace him. Gomis is always going to be a player who looks decent 4 games out of 20 and parks standard the other 16, and you're going with him as your only real option? Which also means you can never change system.

Surely that would only appeal to him as a fan. They've won how many titles in a row, with Rangers back next year who wants to risk being the bloke who's in charge when that run ends.

No slight against his Everton side, as said he'd made them more than just a bunch of plucky grafters by the end of his time there but Swansea's board seem to hold their footballing ideals in very high regard, something which I think they should be commended for when so many chairman are either ignorant or oblivious to such details in pursuit of success, and for me Moyes' football just isn't quite in line with what Swansea would be looking for should they wish to ditch Monk.

Probably, fan and former player. I don't know where his English move would be without it looking like a bit of a humiliation for him...maybe Newcastle? I suppose having an ex Man Utd manager on the market is a bit unusual given it's been 30 years since it last happened and then they weren't what they are now.

I don't think Celtic can afford him. I'm not sure he'll want to manage in Scotland either.

I could see Larsson getting the job if Ronny gets the sack (he definitely should) or perhaps Mick McCarthy or Roy Keane.
