The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2014/15

Either way. The impact is from Whelan kicking Deeley rather than the other way round.

It says something when a chairmen is more well known than the club he owns, IMO the best chairmen remain quiet and in the background and only speak occasionally.
Mr Whelan chickens are coming home to roost and a lot of people are seeing what he is really like.

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has accused Wigan counterpart Dave Whelan of being "a racist".

"This is a racist chairman hiring a racist manager,"

"I hope that stops at two racists in Wigan, not snowballing to 2,000 or 20,000 racists in Wigan."

pretty safe on that part Mr Tan Me thinks....

Shows how fucked up football has become when I'm agreeing with Vincent sodding Tan.

The FA are now in a difficult place. Do they try and charge Tan for his comments when in a libel trial he would have the defence of it being the truth? They have to investigate Whelan quickly (this type of case has priority apparently (just like the Mackay investigation)) and they are going to have to come down hard. I mean, what is there to investigate? Play the BBC interview and convict the doddering buffoon.

It is also quite clear that Tan is looking for punishment on the level of the owner of the LA Clippers. Can't think why as Wigan without an owner would rather screw Mackay.

I did agree with the sentiment (if not the execution) of H's comments about that feckless wanker Taarabt a few weeks back. I still feel a bit iffy about that now.

Would the Express and Star / Ron Atkinson (who isn't racist by the way) get away with labelling three black footballers as the "Three Degrees" today? Should the Express and Star still be using this phrase? Celebrate them for what they were which was three good footballers, not by creating a nickname for the three based on a female pop threesome just because the colour of their skin was the same.

I expect that the FA will ask Vincent Tan to explain his comments, and take it from there. I would say there is a strong possibility of both Tan and Whelan being charged.

Hopefully with 2 million volts of direct current.

I'm pretty sure it will be a brief explanation

Why did you call Dave Whelan a racist?
Because he is one
Why did you call Malky a racist?
Because he is one
Ok, leave £10k on your way out and try not to be raging mentalist 24 hours a day.

Tan has nothing to answer for. He has said nothing but the truth. If the FA charge him he should tell them to sling their hook.

They will charge for making comments he should probably have kept to himself.

Possibly, but the problem is, he has an absolute defence to libel law in that he is telling the truth, and he may well tell the FA "I will see you in court before I pay a brass farthing"

No different to a manager saying "the ref was appalling, an utter joke. Not sure what he was doing out there today but it was a disgrace". It might well be true but men in charge don't like that sort of opinion being shared so they fine them.
