It's bizarre, nothing will make a Deutsch on Doherty level, but I think we've surpassed Deutsch on Ferguson. Judging any player based on stats, particularly subjective ones can get in the bin for me

His issues aren't stats. His issue is he is very poor in goal, that this was known if you watched him last season, and yet people still told me they felt he was a marginal upgrade as was better at kicking than Sa. Like that was all we needed! Baring in mind he is only better with his feet in one very specific area (mid to long range).

It's difficult to be compared to Deutsch and Ferguson so I will try and cut back! It's just the money involved that bothers me, and that is worse when you look at some of the promising keepers we have been linked to since, as whilst that's probably speculation they are closer to what we should have been doing with that area.
