For anyone in the academy, or on the fringes, that's a brilliant thing for them to hear. A pathway to senior football is what all youngsters want.

Only if they are good enough, unless there is a wonder kid in the U18s then there doesn't appear to be anyone in the U23s that is particularly close. We saw last season what happens if we play them when they aren't good enough and/or ready

To be honest, I think he goes this month. We’re stacked in central midfield, he’s lost the captaincy and now his place in the starting 11. He’ll be on big wages (relative to our squad), and it frees up another squad spot. Just seems inevitable to me.
