The January 2025 Transfer Thread

It's still early days yet. Wait til he gets fucked over by Hobbs/Shi in a couple of transfer windows and we go on a winless run..

Only if they are good enough, unless there is a wonder kid in the U18s then there doesn't appear to be anyone in the U23s that is particularly close. We saw last season what happens if we play them when they aren't good enough and/or ready
Not in the academy but Pedro Lima would be a good youngster to develop quickly.

To be honest, I think he goes this month. We’re stacked in central midfield, he’s lost the captaincy and now his place in the starting 11. He’ll be on big wages (relative to our squad), and it frees up another squad spot. Just seems inevitable to me.
I wouldn't say we're stacked, probably just right to cover injury and suspension. I like him but if Vitor doesn't fancy him then he's a gonner, maybe why we're linked with other CMs

Stunned by how easily people are ready to let one of the best midfielders outside the top 6 go in the middle of a relegation fight.

One injury to André or João Gomes and we'd have a situation where Doyle has to play every minute with only Luke Cundle in reserve.

I also don't won't him to go, but Traore is available very soon and he immediately hops Cundle or Doyle for me even though he's not really played enough to go some of the rough edges off him

Based on stats alone he looks useful. I'd guess he likes to bring the ball out from the back

Worse than André in the air though

Re: Lemina - it's probably the last time in his career he'll move for money so I can understand us wanting to get some cash for him. I'll be sad to see him go because he had the ability to be very influential for us

It's £4m and wages off the bill. Also he might not want to be here any more.

No-one is paying for him after this window, he turns 32 in September and he'll likely forever be on one year deals (if he's in serious leagues, unlike Saudi Arabia) until he retires.
Yeah, I think people could be missing how he potentially may be pissed off/humiliated about losing the captaincy and wants out. I'd imagine it's more him than us
