The January 2025 Transfer Thread

He became the fall guy in GOs ridiculous game plan of wanting players to run around like headless chickens. I’m pretty sure if he played in place of one of the Brazilians we’d see the Super Mario of old unless his head’s gone. Really strange that he’s now made more appearances for Wolves than anyone so I suppose there is a chance he’s in need of a change of scenery but I think it’s far more likely he’s been frustrated by what GO was asking him to do.

As I mentioned yesterday we do have 5 players for those two DM positions once Traore is fit. So that's the ideal place to free up a non-HG squad space.

However I wouldn't be getting rid of Mario just yet. He was brilliant last season and still has plenty to offer now he's not captain any more. Traore is the better choice to let leave on loan somewhere until the summer IMO. Then see where we are with bids for Gomes/Andre.

I guess if we're getting a £10m+ bid for Lemina though the club may feel it's worth taking.

Not a transfer rumour or anything but I notice Ruben has started following Vitor Pereira on Insta ;)

Big IF but in 3/4 year once his contract finishes in Saudi wouldn’t be suprised to see him back. And personally I would love it
How long is his contract until ?
Can he walk away earlier and not suffer much financially?

You'd like to think that financial suffering isn't a worry for him after how much he's already been paid there.

No idea but he will end up back in Europe eventually. If we’re still in the prem in 3/4 years it just may happen.

I’d like to think the finances aren’t really an issue for him after this contract, and I doubt any of the top teams will be after him then

He'll still only be 29 when contracts up, would walk into any league, will end up where Jorge's merry go round requires him. Injuries permitting.
