The January 2025 Transfer Thread

For me good deals from spain:
Marc Pubill 21 years (1,90 Defensive Right Wing) - Its international sub 21

He played on first división, but now are in the 2 division spanish. Barcelona likes he, but they have economic problems. I think Almeria ask 25 mill for he to the Barcelona, and dont sell it. I think if you guys put 18-20 mill have option to sign he.

Sergio Ramos start like he, playing on wing, but next move to Defensive Center Back, if this player dont improve more on right wing, its easy convert in defensive center back player.

In 2 division spanish have another good defense:

David Affengruber 23 years old. Play on Elche. He play on defense of 3+2 wings like Wolves.

Dont view new videos to show he, but this video its 3 years old:

New News about he: Elche only receibe 15 goals on 21 games.

24-29 millon for two good young defenders not is bad deal. The most economic defender is Affengruber 4-5 mill euros

Is it essential to have a left footed CB at LCB? Or more of a preference type thing
No that’s a fair point but I’m not sure any of those mentioned above suit playing on the left. Webster may have done a bit for Brighton under Potter I think

I think Boly was right footed but did well on the left, but then I remember Saiss being a bomb scare on the right for a bit.

I suppose it depends on loads of different factors, Foden is left footed but is far less effective on the left compared to the right.

I guess the answer is "it depends"

Jarvis was crap on the right too. And of course got shifted there when we signed the awful Hunt. So it doubly weakened us with one signing, impressive work.

Boli was brilliant at carrying the ball inside a pressing forward and playing on the left suited him. Dawson looked very uncomfortable there as it makes the obvious ball to the full back much more difficult. All depends on the skills of the player - the thought of Toti cutting inside is the stuff of nightmares.

He's not ruined. He just hasn't played in his natural position for a while, we should keep him as a very good back up for the 2 Brazilians, particularly as it feels like Gomes is always one tackle away from a ban!
He was an emotional basket case. Hopefully that could be rectified.

I think it's harsh to say GO ruined him.

Clearly not signing his brother had an impact on him...

I think a bid of anywhere near what we paid for him and he will be off. Be sad to see him go though.

He's technically out of contract in six months as we haven't activated the option in our favour. You'd think we will though rather than just releasing him.

Getting rid of anyone in around the first team, especially Mario, seems a bit daft to me this season.

If he were fit, he’d have been perfect for that last 20 minutes on Sunday and surely would have got the nod over Doyle. He was fantastic for large parts of last season.

We’re not well-stocked enough to be letting players go - that would mean we’d be one injury away from Tommy Doyle being first choice in a midfield two.

Not ideal - whatever opinion you have of Doyle.
