I don’t know about holding a grudge so much as pointing out that he massively undercut himself by being a prick before he made his senior debut here. Fairly or not, first impressions stick, and he did nothing to change minds with his performances for 6ish years.

We do go OTT on him at times, no doubt, but he’s made some of that bed himself.

Mad concept, but people mature and change over time. Not in all instances, but from what I've seen of Doc over the last few years, he seems like a top bloke and is obviously well liked by anyone that actually know him. I'll take those opinions over ones formed on the internet over a decade ago. Each to their own, though. Life's too short.

Would be completely different if he had no redeeming factors and was still acting like a complete bellend on/off the pitch, but he's not.

He won POTS during that 6 year period, I know you've all been conditioned by DW's () perpetual berating, but some balance would be lovely.

And no it's not fair for first impressions to stick for 13 years! Especially given thatbthere are plenty more positive movements from Doc than negative! As i quoted above, City at home for a start. Fucking orgasmic stuff that was, did you not celebrate because of that Hibs interview?

Some of the mental gymnastics that are done to be "fair" about all manner of different aspects of the world on here. Yet in this instance, it seems it's fair to talk about an interview from when he was what? 20 and playing for another club!? So odd.

I'm sure most of our squad have done a shit interview at some point in their career.

Nope, it doesn't say we bid for him at all until the very end.

We probably knew what their number was but as every single team do, first bid is always lower. I guess in the hope they counter with something a little lower than previously advised. So after Danso smacked us around we fired out bids to those next in the list. Udinese just said no ta, not for sale now.

Feels like we are diving around for ways to give the club shit. To me, standard transfer stuff. Wasn't the number 1 target, list got down to where he was, put in opening bid, got told no. Bar the told no bit, same with the lad we did sign and for a little bit less as well.
