I'm not so sure that applies.
- Raul: No-one was backing him to hit the numbers he ended up with for us, but his record and pedigree were broadly speaking fine, especially for a newly-promoted club, we clearly needed a striker as Leo was going to be no kind of option and we even got a year to try him on loan first. Only a few emptyheads wrote him off when Mexico brought him on as a second left back in the World Cup
- Dawson: Not a glamorous deal but we simply had to get rid of the Kilman/Collins disaster partnership at any cost, and from his debut it was clear what a difference he was going to make
- Lemina Sr: Don't think his ability has ever been in question, just his attitude was shite when he was young. Obvious inside a few weeks that he wasn't that man any more
This is a low key punt on a development player, which is fine, it just isn't going to mean anything for our first team this season.
