The January 2024 "Will we actually sign a striker or just Che Adams/Kieffer Moore" Transfer Thread

So we agree to the option. Doesn't mean we can't renegotiate the fee in the summer if we still want him. If he's good enough for €30m we'll be happy to pay it or someone else will.

Judging by Fabio we'll be happy to pay it regardless.

Love how invested people are in this guy who they've never watched play, has done fuck all for ages and hasn't even kicked a ball since August (a whole 10 minutes).

He might be good, he might be what we're after but it's hardly a no brainer.

I said similar earlier. There is simply no evidence to even base an opinion on as he never seems to play

"Not Che Adams? I'm sold"

Romano has said we’ve formally approached Chelsea for Broja but it’s for a loan and they’ve rejected it. No surprise there. Oh, and Ekitike has agreed to join Frankfurt.

Looks like we have a deadline day scramble for Che Adams or nothing.

Edit: sniped by Tony

We should be looking to cancel Kalajdzic's loan right now. Why was he ever allowed to leave?

With an option/obligation hopefully.

Seen his name all over social media etc for years so he's obviously very highly rated.
However, Foot Mercato understands that a move to Premier League side Wolves is now imminent. An agreement for a loan move, with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, has been agreed between the two clubs. It is now up to Lemina to give the green light to the move.

He can't get a game in Serie B and I doubt we'd be interested if his brother wasn't here. Expectations should be tempered.

Yeah I'd expect he'll be getting a similar amount of game time as González (remember him). There's a reason why we've chosen to do this deal at the last possible moment, we've exhausted all our options to strengthen (prop up) the first team.

Sampdoria is hardly good soil at the moment tbf.

I get that, but to exaggerate the point Sheyi Ojo played more games for us at the same age at the same level. To be completely out of the scene seems more than just the club is a basket case.

You’re probably correct but until I’ve seen him play I’ll remind myself how expectations for Raul, Dawson and even his brother were low.
