Cresswell will happen if/when Giles goes. Don’t think there’s much to really stop a deal being done there.

Elvedi clearly happening so not sure what hold up is. Think Scott will end up being late/deadline day as we seem to want to play silly buggers when It’s clear they aren’t having it and surely a decent pre season with us and being available for the first few games is worth more than the couple of million we are haggling over

We will know more next week, but I have no faith at the moment

We clearly have the net spend this summer to give Bristol what they want for him so the only explanation is we're pissing about with terms they aren't happy with.

We're hoping it goes down to the wire and Bristol accepting bugger all up front and/or the fee spread over donkeys years.

Or Bristol and/or his agent are trying to drum up more interest 😟

They don't seem to be having much luck so far. But they can clearly wait for another team to enter the bidding or just keep him.

They want £25m, but we can clearly offer them something they'll accept like £20m in guaranteed fees plus addons.
You said earlier we had the ‘net spend’ to cover the fee, now you are saying we can’t cover the fee so I’m not really sure I follow you.

From what we can gather the player wants to leave and play in the premier league, Wolves as an established club would therefore be an attractive proposition. Maybe we are simply negotiating from a position of strength?

Just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should, just because we aren’t doing something doesn’t mean we can’t.

We have been talking to them since the end of last season about Scott, so there's no way we couldn't have come to a compromised agreement by now unless there's something deeper going on.
We will probably put in an acceptable bid once he’s agreed to sign for someone else.

I'd go even further and say you don't sell below the value, you as a seller, have determined. Regardless of what the market value is

Sort of is though, I’m sure you have sold a house in the past and know what it’s value is. If you don’t need to sell you don’t sell below it’s value.
Previous poster didn’t mention market value though, just what Bristol City want. Surely if they don’t need to sell they will want more than market value, whatever that is. That’s why we negotiate, otherwise we overpay…,:we have done that too much for my liking since Covid.

We haven't overpaid for any player that isn't Mendes related and they stick out a mile.

Lemina linked away now too? I think we are down to just the Gomes brothers, Nunes and Cunha who haven’t been leaving since the end of last season.
