Bueno is the better player.

No harm having Cresswell as back up if we hadn't got one but we've got 2 players who can back him up not including Jonny
Bueno may well become a better player but is still very inconsistent. Lot of smoke that RAN has personal issues, Toti has done ok but looks like a CH playing FB and Giles is questionable defensively. Unless his fitness has fallen off a cliff Cresswell offers more in the short term and Bueno will learn from him.

I don't think Cresswell is better than Bueno right now.

Whether he is or not at £2.5m he’d be decent backup and better than the alternatives who could be sold to raise funds to be invested where our need is greater.

Which would ask be true if we didn't have two other perfectly good back ups in the building.

We shouldn't be solving problems we don't have, we've got enough that do.

What’s our HG situation at the moment? Seems the only logical reason for these deals.

Was never an issue before as Nuno operated with about 14 players. But now JL clearly wants a bigger squad (and said he wants a more “English” presence) so we will need to be more mindful of it

Think I find myself right about here. I wouldn't want Cresswell starting every match but I think he can do the job when rotation is required. Experience isn't everything but it is something.

Not a standout positive signing but a pragmatic one, IMO. I'm alright with it.

Are we on for the least mobile back 4 in the league? I know some experience is necessary but trying to put together a veterans league side doesn’t seem like the best idea for a Premier league side.

I don't really care if we sell Giles. If we've decided that he doesn't fit, which is entirely possible as he hasn't been playing as a LB, and that we can get good value for him off the back of a good few seasons at Championship level then fine.

I don't particularly care if we sell Aït-Nouri either. There's a lot of talent there and there's a small part of me that wants him to make a comeback but again, if we've decided that his face doesn't fit and we can get good value then fine.

I wouldn't even care that much if we sold Bueno tbh at the reported £20M that Newcastle were linked with the other week. He's got potential but he's very inexperienced, if we feel that any offer outstrips that potential then we've got to accept it.

I do care about us wasting £5M on a soon to be 34 year old Aaron Cresswell.agree with all of this.

I agree with all this.

Apart from, probably, Dawson, Gomes (J) and Neto, I don’t really give two shits if we sell every other playing member of the squad.

I'd want to see some of that investment before I buy that this is the strategy

Who are the two back ups?

Agree that we have more glaring problems, and a back up left back is probably near the bottom of the list, depends on what other business we do.

I’d hope spending 2.5m on someone doesn’t impact our main business mind, otherwise we are right in the shit (finances/ownership wise)

If we get Elvedi for less than half his market value that will be some going tbf.

For better or worse literally everything since Collins is just rumors.
