Someone tell that to our forwardsAlways nice to have aims
I would say an attacking midfielder rather than defensive, we already have Neves, Hodge, Nunes and MoutinhoNot really when we’re playing a very raw and unproven hodge currently.
Every central midfielder on the books is more defensive than offensive, whatever combination you pick it needs someone different to properly balance it out. Signing peak Makelele would still leave you with the same issue. Not really when we’re playing a very raw and unproven hodge currently.
I was more thinking if it was only one type of midfielder then if other an attacking one rather than defensive.Moutinho out of contact at the end of the season, Neves going into his last year, interest in Matheus from Liverpool...
We'll lose at least one of them you'd think. Worst case scenario we could lose all three. Signing someone like Ugarte now and allowing them time to bed in under Julen seems like a sensible plan to me.
We definitely need that attacking midfielder as well though.
Feels to me that Hodge is already earmarked as the heir apparent for Mouts. If we can load the midfield with enough proven talent, I wouldn't be averse to this, particularly as he looks to be developing in the right direction. For years, we've (or at least I've) wanted to see Wolves consistently promote youth to senior and it looks like it might finally be happening with Hodge, Cundle to a lesser extent, Bueno and Lembikisa.Moutinho out of contact at the end of the season, Neves going into his last year, interest in Matheus from Liverpool...

Well that's like sending up the bat signal for Johnny isn't it!!Feels to me that Hodge is already earmarked as the heir apparent for Mouts.
I think even Johnny recognised that he gave a competent performance against Liverpool.Well that's like sending up the bat signal for Johnny isn't it!!
Mentally too and I agree a loan is by far the best option for him. Somewhere in Lg1 which is probably not too physical. Watching Oxford last night I think somewhere like that will be his level. The problem for Hodge is we can’t afford to have him learning on the job, in the league anyway. He’s technically tidy and has a decent enough passing range but physically it’s been too much for him in the main even if he does work hard.
I’m suprised Johnny hasn’t dropped the laughing emoji on previous comment!Well that's like sending up the bat signal for Johnny isn't it!!
I mean for me he’s looked like he’s not ready for PL. he may never be. But he’s not abysmal. And played well vs Liverpool, but that’s one game. The problem for Hodge is we can’t afford to have him learning on the job, in the league anyway. I was actually really surprised by how much he got stuck in v Liverpool and with his pressing. At one point he shoved Matip off the ball! The problem for Hodge is we can’t afford to have him learning on the job, in the league anyway. As Moutinho has played in a more forward role this would rule Hodge out of that position as he can’t play there. So not a replacement.Feels to me that Hodge is already earmarked as the heir apparent for Mouts.
