The previous Manager wasn't exactly pulling up trees . He had plenty of time to show what he could do in his time there and never really made an impact .
Maybe Jones is not up to it - we'll soon see - but let's not pretend that Ralf H. was a huge loss to Southampton .

I guess if they wanted to they could've triggered that by now as there was a release clause we could hit (€20m).

I think the other player is the Sociadad CB with a release clause.

Which is why when they say, 'we're trying really hard' it's pretty easy to call bullshit.

Is he decent? I know nothing about him and if it wasn't for some Twitter links a week or so ago I would be posting the Partridge shoulder shrug gif when his move to Southampton was posted on the other transfer thread.

Also if he is decent it comes down to how they use him. We signed Nunes and it took until we got Lopetegui to play him properly.

We're almost down the 'There's nobody available that fits in our team' route along with 'The finances aren't right' and other such invented PR bollocks.

Hobbs will be judged on results, don't get the players in and it will be him that gets the stick, particularly when Lopetegui has said repeatedly what he needs and I can't imagine he would come without those promises being made (albeit by Shi).
