The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

It's mad that different clubs have different accounting years though, so within 12 weeks isn't always the same footballing season for all clubs. They should make it a blanket June 31st for all clubs and then all decisions ready before the start of the next season. It's still basically year behind anyway which is shit from a footballing perspective. Ideally they should be within 28 days of the season finishing to keep everything tight and actually have clubs run properly rather than going balls out in season one and then a firesale season two

Jeff would love a June 31st year end. Think of the bullshit he could make up around that

In Germany there's a yearly audit from the DFB and if you fail then you lose your licence to play and get relegated at least one division immediately. Not hard to implement.

It's only hard because of the obstacles in place [the teams that dont want that to happen].

It was the ‘not proven’ what I was referring to. But let’s move on
Well, inconclusive but damning evidence versus no evidence whatsoever. The two incidents are not too similar at all.

Now if there was video and/or audio evidence of Pod threatening to spit it might be similar...

Of course there's as much audio evidence of him threatening to spit as there is video evidence of him actually spitting.

There is video evidence that supports Pods assertion that he never spat. In that respect spitting was "never proven".

It seems to me, despite the words from individuals and authorities looking to prove he did spit, that video evidence does in fact prove he didn't spit, but they're happy to hide behind nonsense terminology.

Yep. A review for FFP doesn’t need to be based on audited accounts. If they made reporting a requirement based on a standard period end the clubs would likely match their year end to it simply to avoid cost and extra effort.

Bellegarde's first day

Sasa looks sharp in this video.

I wonder if we’ll see Bellegarde in the right midfield position (similar to the one Nunes was playing) after the international break, or if he’ll be introduced slowly off the bench.

The winger at 7:18 looked like he was pressing a claim to start. No squad depth, no worries.
Good pace for a 40 year old journeyman!

Speaking of GO, he seems to be doing all the work (including playing) whilst Dezza and Jenko stroll about watching on

Given that RM is a problem position for us at the minute it makes perfect sense to try him in that role.

I'd say not having anyone who is effective there is sub optimal. Sarabia X, Neto X, Hwang X. If Bellegarde can, it fixes an issue. Right forward in a 4231 rather than right midfield as such

Right midfield is the least of our worries.
Yes but you can't play a midfielder up front or in defence.

In terms of our midfield set up, RM is the one that needs most work.

His heat maps favor the right channel so hopefully a natural fit for him.
