Astonishing that they are admitting they hadn't properly researched and analysed a target for this summer. It’s not as if our goalscoring is a new issue.

Our recruitment team identified Scott and others months before we were linked in January and Hobbs will have at least 2 targets for every position, almost certainly did for striker.

They will have data on budgets and clubs, what they won't have is if the player would want to move to wolves. Why would they, they're hardly going to sound then out whilst being on a list of maybes?

Given money was released barely 48hrs before the end of the window it would be fair to say Hobbs would be working on a list he hadn't thought he would have not 2 days earlier.

It's disingenuous of Percy to write such things, he should know better as to how a scouting/ recruitment department works and I'm surprised at the club for letting him.

Yep, the Dia deal plays out similarly to the Nunes one if the timeframes were the same. That said it's still a failure in recruitment even if it's not a failure of the recruitment team.

Sarabia is a good player and one of those you want to succeed at Wolves but he hasn't really done it and he only came here because of Lopetegui really.
Wouldn't be overly shocked if he went.

GONsoon may well have requested him but if Hobbs has any sense he'd say no as Lingard doesn't fit any plan for any team at this level anymore. He just can't stay fit.

Agree but even if I don't want the player for me there has to be a decent relationship between these 2. Built on trusting each others judgement.

Hobbs can indeed make the above argument but if GO insists then it comes down to them agreeing the best way to do it.
Easiest way to ensure it doesn't happen is offer him a shite contract and tell GO he rejected it and we won't go back with another.
