It was a long standing concern of mine that we wouldn't replace them in terms of quality and/or numbers.

Anyway, looking on twitter - it amazes me how Wolves fans continue to want players sold (such as Nunes in this instance), have they not learnt that we aren't reinvesting the cash in the team!?

But the downside of that is we keep say, Sa and Kilman, and they play every week, have the same weaknesses as before and it costs us, repeatedly.

Most of those who have left don't actually need replacing. Collins does in terms of depth but I wouldn't say we're missing him specifically, not based on what he showed in a Wolves shirt.

Everyone always has a price. Hopefully Judah and Keen are correct that we're waiting for inflated values before shipping out anyone else (bar the likes of Jonny, Podence, etc).

Nunes is clearly a sublime footballer but let's be honest, his overall impact here has been negligible.

He looks way better "out of position".

As an alleged CM he has been horseshit.
At Sporting he could no doubt get away with losing possession in front of the back four, you don’t get away with it so often in the PL. Chelsea at home was the perfect example of what he can do. Scores a worldie and then in final minutes takes two players on on the edge of the box unnecessarily nearly leading to an equaliser.

He’s been played out of position mostly in a team that’s completely fucked, I’m not surprised.
Certainly something that needs to be taken into account, although I agree with Dan that he's actually looked more effective when played "out of position".

Well if you can buy a highly rated CM and only get a partial tune out of him by playing him wide I’d say it’s more a problem with the set up than the player. If he’s not suited to our “system” then sell him. He’d probably thrive at somewhere better.

Maybe, maybe not. We've seen plenty of busts come out of Portugal's Big 3 before.

He’s a quality player, he’ll come good somewhere but it won’t be here.

He's a quality footballer, I'll say that. Whether he's a quality player at the top level I think is very much open to debate at the mo.

When you see a midfielder watching the opponent he's supposed to be marking run away towards your goal and does nothing. He's not a midfielder, he's a luxury.
Never mind the petulant bookings.
Unacceptable.

Imagine bizzaro world where we sell Kilman & Nunes, receive around 90m and then reinvest that back into the squad.

Didn't Guardiola say Nunes was 'one of the best midfielders in the world' or similar last year?
It was after they pumped sporting 0-5 I think in champions league before he signed here
