That's beyond my breaking point.

That's not what he said. He said that the original deal was close to agreement, not that it was close to being brought back

If we knew Lop was off (it seems we did at least 10 days ahead of the departure) then it's fine to hold the deal until you know if his replacement actually wants Elvedi. No good spending money on him and O'Neil says "nah, not my kind of player".

It's not being done to specificially spite Lopetegui or for Xitter bantz.

Look at Guedes. We were stupid enough to finally give in to Mendes but Lage and Davis hardly ever started him as he's wank. So we end up with a total deadweight who contributes zero.
