The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

On the basis that it appears that we don't have a pot to piss in to sign anyone, what are realistic expectations for the rest of the window?

Personally I think that we'll sign Cresswell, a centre back, Scott and maybe a loan as a wide forward or forward option.
RAN, Jonny, Sarkic, Jordao, Bolla & Podence sold, Cundle & Campbell loaned out

Cresswell & Elvedi + loan with option to buy for a striker & someone like McAtee, all in the last week of the window.

Crazy business I know..didnt they know about this FFP shit long time ago?

Fuck it, Forest must be in FFP trouble, they bought like 10-15 players last season...including MGW for over £20m wasnt it? Dont understand how it works and how they count..

Its not all FFP.

Part of it was, the decision making now has nothing to do with FFP just a decision from the owners on what they want to happen with regards to profits this summer

Ahh, right..Fosun had enough of incestment and lack of profit maybe..down to inflation or lack of interest..? World economy

Linked to Konstantinos Mavropanos from Stuttgart. One that I think only happens if we sell Kilman.

Would you be in favour of having both of we sold Kilman?

(Quite why we didn't sell him I don't know)
Yeah, perhaps. Mavropanos is a bit slow for my liking though and can be very rash

Shouldnt we be focusing on scoring more than 1 goal a season..I mean thats what football is all about?

I'd much rather have Elvedi than him.
Completely different types of centre back really aren't they. Mavropanos is a more aggressive version of Kilman, he'd replace what we'd lose from Kilman's aerial ability and physicality. He's actually good at progressing the ball as well, instead of Max who is supposed to be but isn't. Elvedi seems to be very good on the ball as well but seems to have more range and is much more experienced.
May as well keep Max then.

I think we lack real pace and strength in our defenders.
If we can sell Kilman for £35M+ and bring Mavropanos in for less than half that then we should IMO.

Yeah, just in an either/or choice I'd take Elvedi.

You can't tell a massive amount from these but Mavropanos definitely had the better season last year.

Is Kilman not good at the progressing the ball now?
I wouldn't say so, no. He can hit the odd switch quite well (so could Danny Batth!) but his passing over 10-20 yards is shit and he's given up on carrying the ball.
