The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

On the basis that it appears that we don't have a pot to piss in to sign anyone, what are realistic expectations for the rest of the window?

Personally I think that we'll sign Cresswell, a centre back, Scott and maybe a loan as a wide forward or forward option.
Pretty much what I think too. Pod and RAN will leave.

Well it’s that or all of it in the stands?
I didn't think we'd get nearly double what we agreed with Everton for Coady off someone else, or that a Premier League club would pay £5m+ for Raul. I certainly don't think we'll rush into paying for Jonny to play elsewhere, it'll be a last resort thing.

I think it can be good in the long run swapping out a lot of deadwood and players that are underperforming but then we should be able to sign somebody to remain in the prem..which is the main priority and will be tough to do that when I look on the other teams..you know that newcomers always overperform because of the hype to play in the prem the first season..so, Im genuinly worried

This feels like a questionable assertion.

If Nunes, Sarabia and Cunha over performed last season then yes, we are in the shit

I mean teams of course as you well know, mention those players 😂
I read it as clubs tbf.

I don't think it's particularly accurate if you check the numbers.

Very underplayed aspect of Sarabia’s first 4 months at Wolves is that he had twins. The guy must have been running on fumes. He is an extremely tidy player who I’m excited to see this season

It's not true about "newcomers always overperform" though, or even close to true.
No, but usually they start good and got more excitement different to other teams..over a whole season though..not sure statistics, but you know that Dan..but I think first year they can stay up..2/3 of them??

Can confirm, having twins is the closest I've come to having PTSD.

I thought I'd read on here that Cresswell was now a non runner...
Not prepared to pay West Ham what they have asked.

Now that is meant to be £5m but at the moment they could have asked for £5 and we would be going..."mmmmmmm can you do a deal at £2.50?"

Think that's best case scenario, apart from Creswell obviously I'd rather give Jonny another go.
