I totally get, and understand your stance, Alan. Just wanted to clarify me saying ‘just accused’ doesn’t mean I take those sort of accusations lightly, or believe in the ‘o they weren’t found guilty therefore they didn’t do it and the accuser is a liar’, as that doesn’t reflect me at all.

No harm done 👍
My apologies, as well. One of the topics that really brings the claws out of me unintentionally.

One of them innocent in the eyes of the law therefore he should be allowed to play for us with no judgment. That’s the black and white non reality world.
Real world yep innocent in law but there’s some huge alarm bells ringing which sits very uncomfortable with many people.
Caen binned him off rapid style and not because he was shit in fact the opposite.

I really don't want to come across as defending him as I have little knowledge of what he has done bar what the internet will tell me

The one thing it seemed he definitely did and was punished for was the school stuff in the toilets as a young lad. Paid for that with his chances at Caen being removed. He was 15 when he did this so you would have to hope he has since discovered porn sites for his kicks.

The other one, which seems to be punching a girl (not a sexual attack just an outright attack). I can't see anything from a very quick google search bar the complaint was made. Would expect something out there as the alleged punch was done in public. Either Montpellier have loose morals when its a player doing good stuff for the club or it never made it further than a complaint being made (or is still ongoing of course)

On a totally, totally unrelated note, I wonder if he is as good as Ebanks-Blake was...

Did SEB have a reputation for getting his chopper out at school?

Again I'm not defending him but he was very young (on the sexual thing, not sure on the punching a girl). It's possible he's not the same person now or learned to control his baser instincts. Maybe a chance of redemption?
It's a risk though.

That's the bit that bothers me.

I'm not sure I would take the risk but he was young and we don't know his background (he may well have been abused too) so maybe a chance at redemption should be made.

This where the scouting team and Hobbs come in. They would look into his background and the issues he has had before putting him to Lopetegui for approval.

I would be very surprised if we put forward a player we felt was huge risk in terms of his off the pitch behaviours. This is where we have to put faith in the club and to be honest Hobbs is one of a few I feel we can be confident in doing the right thing.

I don' t like forsaking my morals just to cheer on one of our players;it's a no from me.
Nor me, but it does make me a little uncomfortable writing youngsters off due to a mistake made in their youth, who knows what kind of upbringing they had. As I said it seems risky to me, guess that makes me a hypocrite.

Being 15 at the time does put things in a slightly different light. Still… Would be a tough one to swallow for me.

Yeah it's tricky, life was much easier for me 30 years ago when I'd have been advocating stringing him up by his balls, but I've matured now......mostly.

Fair enough friend.I guess I am just used to young men and people of this type reoffending if you will due to I used to be a therapist before started in education and familiar with that.

May have gotten a bit dramatic lol but still iffy if we should take him on.

Seems like tons of talent there though.Quite the conundrum.
