Clubs from top tiers of Spain, Italy and Holland have all made enquiries about taking Fabio Silva on loan until the end of the season meaning he leaves Anderlecht this month

Interesting tidbit that the new loan club would have to compensate Anderlecht. I guess he's really putting something good on film.

Only because they've already paid for him for the whole season. Man Utd have had to pay Besiktas for Weghorst even though he's Burnley's player.

Do all loans have fees attached these days?

I'm not too worried at this point. Lyon aren't what they were a few years ago, they're solidly midtable. We should be able to beat them on wages etc handily.

Now if they double our bid that's a problem but it sounds like it's not that much difference.

-edit- I imagine Flamengo probably leaked it in the first place to try and make exactly this happen. Probably means they're off Jeff's christmas card list but its just business

Lyon are a proven pathway for Brazilian players to move into Europe. If Flamengo accept their bid wages might not be the thing that sways him.

Would be utterly embarrassing after we literally teased his arrival in the Lemina 'behind the scenes' video.

Re Fábio: It seems to me like Anderlecht are fairly shite atm so if we could get him a similar amount of game time in a better league then that would be a sensible move IMO.

This is a fair point, albeit I'm not sure how much water it holds now with them being out of Europe. If they were still in Champions League every year I could easily see that, but without that you're essentially weighing up Ligue 1 vs the Prem. And without meaning to be jingoistic, the Prem wins on a number of fronts (media exposure, level of competition, etc)

Every player is different, of course, so we won't know. Lyon might well be doing Flamengo a favour with this just to help them cash in a bit more, or try to anyway.
