The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Steak n kidney pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy.

No word of a lie but when my missus was a youth she found a rolledup piece of A4 paper in a Linda McCartney sausage.

Just had roast chicken and stuffing baguette from the canteen. Lovely stuff.

I bought some left over chilli in for my lunch and a bag of chips was unexpectedly ordered by the other two people in the office. Chilli and chips, bonus!

That's a big win right there.

Last nights chilli was an absolute triumph. Best thing I've ever cooked I reckon.

Next time, I'll stick some chillies in it - had to keep it mild last night as the kids were having some.

As a temporary fix, crack open a jar of jalepenos and stick them on your chilli once you've served it. I have to make such comprimises too.

I love jalapeños and I love chilli, I don't think the two go together though. Jalapeños are slightly sour and that mixes badly with tomato/mince.

I've got some of my dads homemade chillies. It's them or nothing as they are truly magnificent.

It's a comprimise, more than a recipe enhancer. Needs must when you have kids and a pussy of a wife. It's the reason I have lime pickle with practically every curry too :D

Reading that took me back to Halfpenny Green market. There used to be a man there selling hot roast pork, stuffing, and apple sauce rolls. They were so good.

There's a place in Bilbrook now Sue that does absolutely amazing hot pork rolls. Opposite the Tesco by the Woodman. Worth a visit next time you're over :)

Was told at half 9 this morning that I was working this afternoon so I've thrown a pork and apple casserole into the slow cooker for the wife & kids tea tonight

Sounds good DW. In the Woody for a lunchtime pint, then nip across the road for a pork roll :) . Will add it to my places to go list when I next come over.I love Bilbrook I do, its got everything :)

Get a jar of lazy chillies from the supermarket and whack a teaspoon of those on your chilli before you eat it, that's what I do to spice it up.

I'll look out for them, cheers pal.

Yep, that's definitely a better solution. Obviously you want to increase the heat but I think wanging jalapeños on would just wreck it.

Great little thing to have in the cupboard regardless, I've always got a couple of jars in.

Doesn't wreck it. I like sour things, anyways.
