The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

My favourite meal to cook :). Chicken, lamb, beef, prawn ? Indian or Chinese?

Eating out for me tonight, an Italian.

chicken. very definitely indian. as squeeze has some dietary requirements I am adding extra veggies as well. cauliflower takes to curry sauce like a duck to water.

That doesn't mean you eat for two people on that day, chunky.

Disagree. On my last evening in Saudi Arabia, I had in my cupboard, a tin of tuna, a tin of baked beans (I embraced the local cuisine clearly), an onion, some spuds, bit of cheese and some chilli powder.
Fry the onions, mix with tuna, beans and chilli powder, top with cheesy mash, bake in oven for my award winning (well, I congratulated myself on my culinary genius) Saudi Shepherd's Pie.

It's suprisingly delicious.

Ah, the gourmet version of my story in post #1476.

The moral of the story is always make sure you have beans and tuna in your cupboard.

I don't think Del understands what 5:2 is to be honest and is just making it up as he goes along. He's doing the eating/fasting the wrong way round for a start.

Found me a lil shop that sells tinned roe. So with new fryer, gonna make me some roe, chips and mushy peas, if I had some newspaper.....

Never liked roe, either fresh, tinned, or chip shop. Think its a texture thing for me. My 22 tins of mushy peas that I brought back from Florida are now down to 11. I blame the fact that they are lovely with everything. Even lovely when mixed in a stew :)

Steak, peppercorn sauce, mushrooms, peas, homemade seasoned chips.

I blame Del.

I do love roe, I remember dad always getting roe and chips on the way home from Dowtys on a Saturday night as a kid...As for mushy peas we are down to 8 tins now! :D

If you need any salad cream, I have 12 bottles of the stuff! My friend called me from Florida saying World Market had had a delivery of it, and it was on special offer, $3 a bottle, so of course she gets me 12 bottles on her way back to PA!!

I've come to the conclusion that if I stopped using me condiments, i'd be as thin as a stick!!
