The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Actually, we has lightly dusted basa fish last night. I was fucking delicious.

The flavours of some of the stronger chillies are amazing - but as Deutsch says, it's all down to how the rest is cooked.

I'm no Wombat - I don't have lead lined taste buds - but I appreciate some degree of spice.

Certain chillies I can't do anymore as I pay for it at around 2 in the morning. But I agree if you are having say a curry, you have to have a certain hotness and spicyness to it or you may aswell just eat a stew. But I don't see the enjoyment of eating something that makes your nose run, your eyes water, your throat burn, your lips numb and ya bum bleed.

Last nights chilli was an absolute triumph. Best thing I've ever cooked I reckon.

Next time, I'll stick some chillies in it - had to keep it mild last night as the kids were having some.

Very lazy chillis. One teaspoon. Chop up two from a bog standard Morrisons 49p mixed chilli bag and throw them in, seeds and all. Dash of tabasco. SORTED.

Ah, you're joking man. I sometimes get half a teaspoon and smear it across the top of a sausage roll, let alone in a serving of chilli.
Deutsch "I don't need to add sauces for taste" Wolf.

No, that's Deutsch "slathering salad cream over stuff is nonsense" Wolf. And I don't wang sauces over EVERYTHING like you freaks.

DW, apologies if this has been asked before, but what do you generally put on your chips??

For me there are two choices for chips

Red Sauce, salt and vinegar

OR

Gravy :atigrou::atigrou::atigrou:

What am I eating them with?

If it's fish then nothing, you can't be lathering sauce all over in that case, that is ludicrous. In fact in most cases the main course defines what you're doing. If they're on their own then I might have some brown sauce.

Chips with curry sauce all over it, then ketchup over that!! It looks like an abortion but tastes great.

Do you ever make chip butties??

Not really, no. I don't eat chips that often! If I ate everything I wanted all the time I'd be the size of a house, I'm too big as it is.

Ohhhhhhhh

chip butties

Thick anchor butter. Chips. Salt. Red Sauce. And the bread must be doorstep thick and nice and crusty.
