The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

I've never punctured the skins on snags, especially on a barbie...

Tonight I made the antipodean branch a bit of a Thai feast. Red curry with monster big prawns and scallops and a green chicken curry. So nice to have fresh lime leaves rather than dried. Massively improved the dishes.

Today 's lunch;

Slow braised pig cheek with soused cabbage, thyme cider jus and sauted potatoes.

Small matter of Spag Bol for ten tonight. Using a pot that wouldn’t look out of place in an army kitchen

Lunch today... Soup.
A family packet of Chicken Noodle soup with a 75 gram serving of spaghetti broken up into 1" bits, a couple of extra spoonfull of sweetcorn, when cooked drop an egg into it and whisk it. Whilst it's cooking eat the rest of the sweetcorn out of the tin.
Lovely!

A colleague today mentioned cracking an egg into mashed potato instead of milk/butter, said it makes really nice creamy mash.
Anyone here tried it?

I also had soup for dinner

1) heat soup
2) add an obscene amount of cracked pepper
I do that too. I have to have buttered toast to dip into it though as well.

I know I’m feeding an army here but two pieces of topside, a pork leg and a chicken might be overkill…

Cooked a Beer Can Chicken on the BBQ today.

First attempt and it was a cracker. Just a simple olive oil and garlic rub. Flavour was spot on.

Chicken, leek and cider Gratin. Shredded greens and a bit of cheddar mash to accompany.

Jerk chicken thighs (air fried), roasted vegetables (red & green peppers, red & white onions, courgette and garlic cloves), and roasted baby potatoes. I could eat this every day of the week.

Love chicken thighs in the air fryer. Super crispy skin

A late finish for us both with work (thanks Virgin Media!) so just a takeaway from Burger Boi - spot on. Wolves is a bit of a culinary desert but that's been a great find, superb scran.
