The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Attempting my very first Slow Cooker meal today. - A Camp Fire Stew.

Gammon Joint, Onions, Peppers, Carrots, Kidney Beans, Tin Toms, Baked Beans, Tom Puree, Paprika, Cumin, Coriander, Garlic, Chilli Flakes

Chinese Takeway leaflet on standby for 5.30......
How camp?

I made my first ever pie on Saturday. It was fucking glorious - steak and ale. Went down a treat (no, I didn't make my own pastry - that would have been dumb).

Marvellous. Don't listen to the inevitable Culinary Nazi backlash about slow cookers. They're very handy!
Behave.

Lovely piece of sirloin steak (on offer as very near it's sell by date - usually costs more than I want to pay) - mushrooms, onion, peas & chips

Giving the roast a miss today. Micro is out at football (his match should finish about now) and he and Squeeze will be somewhat chilly upon their return.

Homemade curry it is then

Been to the Tormaukin Inn in Glendevon tonight. Poached potted gammon with peppered pineapple and Irish soda bread to start with a duo of game (pheasant & pigeon), fondant potato, pickled golden beetroot and grilled baby leeks for the main. Nice pint of Harviestoun - Broken Dial and a wee dram of Dalmore 15 to wash it down.

Luxurious.

from the potted gammon to the wee dram, sounds like a lovely evening from start to finish

Leeds - Do you ever have beans on toast, or is it all just seafood every night?

Yes I do have beans on toast. I don't always have seafood, but I do prefer it to 'meat'.

The first thing I've looked forward to in ages, chips and curry sauce sandwiches tonight.

I approve.

Didn't think anyone would tbh. Homemade chips ( I like them just turning brown)then toss the chips in the curry sauce and arrange sophisticatedly on crusty bread :)
