The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

This cooking larks going to your head a bit ay it Langers!

Nice to see though :)

This takes about 15 minutes. Dead easy - mix the stuff together, make a little hole in the mixture, break the eggs into it, bake for 10-12 mins, eat it. Piece of piss.

Baked eggs? How do they turn out?

Baked! :icon_lol: Very nice actually - I suppose it looks a bit like a fried egg.

Just imagined they'd dry out and go a bit weird in the oven, not something i'd ever thought to have done with an egg.

I've got pork meatballs at home, not sure what dish to make with them tbh.

I've got cream, tomatoes, peppers, pasta, potatoes, garlic, onions, herbs etc in the fridge, just unsure what way to make them, and with what.

Any ideas?

Pasta and an arrabiata sauce for me. (As in, that's what I'd go for, not I'll be round in an hour, stick that on for me)

Yeah they do unless you keep an eye on them. Hence why it goes well with spinach and cheese as they both cook pretty quickly too. I like a nice runny yolk so it only needs 10 minutes.

Going back to Bistro Rosa (Rosie's caff) for some more seafood/fish indulgence.

Made a low carb 'lasagne'. Substitute the pasta sheets with sliced aubergine, and make the 'bechamel' sauce with natural yoghurt and feta cheese.
Not saying I nailed it first time out, but a bloody nice dish, will give it another go.

Baked eggs with cheese, double cream (not salad cream) and spinach.

This was absolutely lush.

Bloody kids didn't like it though, so if I do it again I'll have to change the ingredients. Or have it when they're not here.

Isn't that Moussaka?

How many eggs did you use? Was there no meat involved? Wasn't it a bit like a plate of mush?

Sounds ok to me now but I don't think I'd have been too impressed with that when I was a kid. :icon_lol:

No meat - 4 eggs. Not mushy really, I thought it turned out really well. It was very tasty.

Dunno why the kids didn't like it as they like the ingredients. Just in one of those moods I think.

Got the recipe from my girlfriend's cookery magazine. It was quick and easy so thought I'd give it a try.

Never had it myself something i've never thought to do. What cheese did you use?

Steak & Bearnaise with asparagus and broccoli.

Possibly Escabeche of Haddock for starters followed by Delice of Plaice.
